Position Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of the corporate LAN and WAN environment as well as implementation of new technologies.

#7735 Programmer Analyst, Location: Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL

Provide in house analytical and programming support of company business systems to assure operation of critical systems without serious interruption and continual design and development of new systems and enhancements to current ones. Provide leadership to less experienced personnel in technology, standards, etc. Provide leadership in the interpretation and specification of programming work, selecting optimized architectural approaches in terms of resource consumption, future flexibility, maintainability, reliability, and ease of use of all systems development.

Translates requirements defined by systems analysis into logical, economical and practical systems designs. Prepares detailed specifications from which complete sets of programs will be written. These specifications show system linkage, data movement and resource requirements, document specifications for input handling, processing and output preparation for each system function, and file, report and input formats.

Specific tasks include:

  • Develop file structures.

Required: experience includes from three to five years RPG/III or RPG/400 programming experience in a database environment on a AS/400. Also highly desirable is at least five years of general business experience, exposure to any AS/400 integrated manufacturing solution, ( i.e. BPCS, DATA/3, PRMS, MAPICS/XA, JBA, JDEdwards, etc. ), and data conversion and implementation experience. The successful candidate will posses highly developed skills in written and oral communications, software quality assurance, the use of automated project management tolls, project life cycle techniques, integrated testing and implementation procedures, RPG/III / 400, CL, PDM, DBU, etc. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant experience is required though a degree is preferred.

Gathers and analyzes information for developing and modifying data processing systems. Designs and specifies systems and methods for installing them and supervises or guides their installation. Evaluates operational systems and recommends improvements. Works closely with personnel in problem areas to gather information and define system objectives. Documents fact finding and study results. Makes formal presentation of findings, recommendations and specifications in formal reports and in oral presentations. Manages projects through their entire life cycle. Responsible for the integrity of all operating data screens and data base elements for the company. Is responsible for assuring project quality and successful implementation.

Responsibilities include:

This candidate will have the opportunity to learn Windows NT on the company's 150 personal computers running on an Ethernet LAN which is connected through frame relay. Required: MAPICS experience, College degree in Computer Sciences or related area a plus, minimum of 2 years of experience, leadership and organizational skills, knowledge of EDI and ASN a plus.

#3356 Telecommunications Systems - Switching Customer Technical Support, Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL

Defining and implementing production site verification plan. Creating and executing sets of tests to verify products performance and stability. Tests also run to support the site test team through championing fixes with development and verifying software updates for site delivery. Traveling to the sites in the Asia Pacific could be available/required. It also requires attending customer meetings and presentations when needs arise. Project manager and senior business developer of the EDI development team. Create work plans, schedule work and manage projects of various scope and size. Work with various business units to assist them in implementing their EDI plans. Assist the EDI staff in developing COBOL programs using CICS and DB2 to enable interfaces between EDI utility and business system applications. Other responsibilities include implementation of EDI and system software upgrades, monitoring and improving system performance, assisting with disaster recovery tests, and resolving production problems. Required: BS or BA in business or computer science, strong communications skills, proven track record in system design and development, including batch, CICS, and DB2. The Programmer Analyst will play a key role in providing technical and programmer support and service to internal user departments with a focus on implementing and enhancing our new MACPAC manufacturing systems. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Candidates must be very strong in problem solving abilities and be able to work with a cross section of technical and user staff. Required: Two years of experience with AS/400 RPG/400 design, programming, and testing is required.
